Are you done with High School and are looking for a University to groom your career, before you make up your mind, consider this. At this point in life, you are looking from a University that will support your career growth other than its Public image. You want a University that will care enough to help you make the most of the time at University and get done with those books as soon as possible at the same time with your academic record unbroken.

1. Registration Maze: Navigating the First Steps

Imagine a seamless registration process where you spend minimal time and effort. Opt for a university with a well-organized and efficient registration system. The reality is Registration process should not take you months as though you are planning to travel out of the country. The time you spend trekking from one office to another trying to register for everything required (the academic system, the student’s ID, facilities access like Libraries and  Laboratories)  every week is enough for you to run a start up business and save extra income to boost your campus necessities. By the time you are done with this process, in another University the Semester course units are done with the first half of the syllabus.

2. Unnecessary Retakes.

Its one thing to do a course unit and fail it but its another thing to have a retake because a Lecturer lost your marks and is not willing to give you a free test to bail you out or make any efforts to find your past paper. This is extremely costly because in such a desperate situation, you are forced to either pay the lecturer to put a mark you didn’t earn or pay and study the entire course unit. Another 4 months spent in school and amount of money added to the school fees. Meanwhile in another University somewhere, those that failed a course unit are given a wild card test or exam to bail themselves out without the need to pay more money or spend extra months trying to study to get a concept right.

3. Administrative and Political Instabilities.

University is not the place to start expressing your long withheld rage from High School against school authorities. It is a place for you to start sharpening your skills, and build your expertise in the career you are trying to pursue. Therefore as you plan to join campus remember these political strikes are damaging your career and there is nothing that will change after striking. In another University somewhere students are busy submitting their research papers and getting into field practice while you are chilling in hostel screaming “WEEEWEEE” The world will not wait for you.

The same applies to the lecturers, As they spend months on strike, in another University, students are busy writing their Internship reports and lecturers are connecting their students to field experts and conducting career development sessions. These disruptions instead prolong your timeframe of study and instead of completing your course in 3 years, its taking you 4-5 years.

This is how you find your OG or OB as your manager while you are just joining as an intern.

4. Post-Graduation Preparedness: Ensuring a Smooth Transition

Your journey doesn’t end at graduation; it evolves into the professional realm. Choose a university where the issuance of transcripts is prompt, facilitating a smooth transition into the workforce. Imagine you had an opportunity to join a multi billionaire company but because you graduated without your transcript you get dropped because another person graduated with their transcripts and academic papers. Consider this as you choose the University to shape your career.

As you stand on the brink of university life, envision the knowledge and experiences you seek to gain. Delve into research about prospective institutions, consider their track records, and weigh the potential challenges against the benefits. Your choice of university is a crucial decision that shapes not only your academic journey but also your professional future.

Remember, you are seeking more than a degree – you are pursuing knowledge, growth, and opportunities. By making informed decisions during this pivotal moment, you set the stage for a rewarding university experience that will positively impact your personal and professional development.

So, dear student, as you embark on this transformative journey, choose wisely. Seek an institution that aligns with your aspirations, values, and commitment to knowledge. Your university choice is a key determinant of your success in your academic journey. In as much as many people say that Education does not determine success, remember your academic papers have the potential to open a door to an opportunity or business deal. Just because they are not the success determinant doesn’t mean you will never need them.
