ODD THINGS PASTORS HAVE DONE TO CONGREGANTS.

Being named a pastor was such an honor, and it frequently went hand in hand with social honor. It wasn’t until some of them began exploiting people’s fervent desire for God in order to get financial gain or assert their ultimate dominance. Here are the top strange things pastors have done or forced people to do that have concerned human rights activists. Many have lost their lives in the name of working miracles.

A cult leader by the name of Joseph Kibwetere duped followers in South Western Uganda, who were then burned to ashes. Kibwetere succeeded in persuading followers that the day of darkness was drawing near, the world would burn, and only those who adhered to his doctrine would survive to rule over whatever was left of the earth. According to reports, that cult claimed the lives of about 1000 people.

It was taken to a new level by a Nigerian pastor from Lagos. He developed the idea that followers of Christ are like sheep, and he is their shepherd. Only those who believe and follow the Shephard’s instructions, he claimed, will experience extraordinary blessings. The congregation members rushed to the compound and began to munch the grass like ravenous goats. Congregant video clips that went popular on social media were denounced by numerous religious leaders.

As if that weren’t bad enough, another video was posted online by a different vlogger showing the same Pastor forcing people to drink gasoline while he claimed they were receiving anointing.

Another pastor from Uganda by the name of Denis Kintu gained notoriety the previous year for spanking church ministers during services. The members of the congregation defended him by saying that he was acting in the best interests of his mentees by doing the right thing as a parent who wanted to see them succeed in the Kingdom of God.

As we adjust to Denis Kintu’s practice of whipping his followers, the leader in South Africa chooses to spray his followers with pesticide in order to exterminate their demons, which resemble cockroaches. Media accounts claim that after persuading worshippers that he could heal cancer and HIV by merely spraying Doom in their faces, he gained the moniker “Prophet of Doom.”
