Abel Tesfaye, also known as “The Weekend,” has been dubbed the most well-known artist of all time by the Guinness Book of World Records. Around 70 million records have been sold by this Canadian singer, songwriter, and producer, who also has won numerous accolades such as 3 Grammys, 6 American Music Awards, 19 Billboard Music Awards, 2 MTV Video Music Awards, and 15 Juno Awards.

The Weekend just passed a new milestone by surpassing 100 million Spotify listeners for the first time. They then set a new record by hitting 112.2 million listeners. The Guinness Book of World Records lists him as the most well-known artist in the world as a result of this achievement.

The next closest artist, Miley Cyrus, who is well-known for her pop, experimental, and rock music, has 82.8 million Spotify listeners. She has a long way to go before catching up to The Weekend though.

Rema from Nigeria has 38 million Spotify listeners in the African music scene, but he still has a long way to go before he can compete internationally.

Non the less, The Weekend’s accomplishment is admirable and deserving of praise. He has established himself as one of the most prosperous and well-liked musicians of all time, breaking a significant world record in the process.
