Famous International record label Empire has announced its new President. Tina Davis is now the new president of Empire.
Where as people believe that Empire is simply a Television Drama series that became famous in 2015 featuring top actresses like Taraj P. Henson, Terrence Howad, Jussie Smollet among others, there is an actual record label that exists.
It was founded by Ghazi Shami in 2010 with offices in New York City, London, Nashville, and Atlanta. The Label has enlisted the African artistes such as Asake, Kizz Daniels, Olamide, Kuami Eugene among others. To top it all the label has built partnerships with brands like Spotify and has distributed music all over the world through online portals, and CDs.
Today the Label has named its new President as Tina Davis & in her new role, Davis will continue to lead Empire’s A&R team as well as help with the strategic planning and day-to-day operations of the company. Most recently, Davis served as the company’s senior vice president of A&R.
Before joining Empire, she was heading the A&R department for more than 10 years and she worked closely with the top dogs like Jay Z, DMX, Method Man, and many others.
Following Def Jam, she worked closely with Chris Brown, and has been featured on Variety Women’s Impact Report and Dealmakers lists, as well as Billboard’s Women in Music and Hip-Hop/R&B Power Players lists.
“Tina has been instrumental in the overall growth of Empire since joining the team in 2018. With her experience, she has a unique understanding of the creative journey of our artists,” says the company’s founder and CEO, Ghazi. “Working closely with Tina and seeing the continued growth of our team makes this extremely rewarding and there couldn’t have been a better person for the role.”
