American rapper Daniel Hernandez professionally known as Tekashi 6ixnine is in Uganda to shoot his new music video for ” Wapi”. The 26 year-old rapper announced his intention to shoot and release the music video by Friday this week.
Announcing on his Instagram a few days ago, the rapper also expressed his worries for the music video stating that, “we are only two of us without a camera crew.” Tekashi bought a DJI gimbal that can be attached to a phone to stabilise the image just in case the camera does not work.
The rapper who is known for being brazen has been on a world tour recently to shoot videos for various projects as just a few weeks ago, he was in Cuba. These trips of course come with gifts for the locals as he has been recorded giving out hundreds of dollars starting with the Cuban man who accommodated him during his stay in the country. In Uganda, he was recorded holding a huge bundle of hundred dollar bills as he was giving the money out to young children.
He is well renowned for his unusual appearance, which includes tattoos all over his body and face as well as rainbow-coloured hair.
His first hit, “Gummo,” which peaked at number 12 on the US Billboard Hot 100, helped him gain popularity in 2017.
Tekashi 6ix9ine has had a contentious career, with legal difficulties including arrests for violence, accusations involving guns, and his membership in a group known as the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods. In 2018, he entered a guilty plea to nine charges, including racketeering, conspiracy, criminal use of a handgun, and drug trafficking.
He testified against Nine Trey gang members while working with law enforcement, which led to a shorter sentence. Because of worries about the coronavirus epidemic, he was freed from prison in April 2020. He has since proceeded to stir up controversy while releasing new music.
