ZION KENTE: BEST EAST AFRICA ACTRESS AT RIMA AWARDS

Zion Kente is a well-known presenter, public speaker, and communication strategist with over 6 years worth of experience in the entertainment industry. Earlier this year, she transferred to NRG Radio Uganda from its sister station in Kenya and currently hosts NRG Circle with Djvx Faisal and Ettania. The radio presenter has had a very good year so far and her year just got better as she won Best East African actress for her breathtaking role in Dial M for Maya at the Rwanda International Movie Awards. The awards were held in the country’s capital, Kigali.

A dark love story that questions human morality in a world where everyone is looking out for themselves, Dial M for Maya is a low-budget film that manages to grab the viewer’s attention and keep you hooked with all the twists and turns.

“I am a big fan of thriller movies and when this script came to me, I jumped at the opportunity without hesitation,” said Zion on what attracted her to the film. Throughout the entire runtime, you are enthralled by Kente’s performance and it does not even hit you that this is her first feature film and is still heavily regarded as a newcomer in the industry.

The actress was jovial when she received the news as she was out with her friends which coincidentally is the same way she learnt of her nomination.

Dial M for Maya is streaming only on SHOWMAX.
