The 2023 Netball Africa Cup is shaping up to be an exciting and unforgettable tournament as it is poised to be the first time, there will also be a men’s cup.
“Africa Netball is pleased to give Uganda Netball Federation the hosting rights upon confirmation that all the hosting requirements will be in place before and during the tournament to allow the smooth running of both competitions.” Said president Cecilia Molokwane, the head of the continental netball governing body, Africa Netball.
The requirements include, among other things, playing venues (an indoor facility with a sprung floor), meeting locations, lodging facilities for teams, match officials, members of the Africa Netball executive committee, and World Netball staff, inland transportation for umpires, UAP, UN personnel, the Africa Netball board, medical, security, volunteers, and team liaison officers.
The Makerere Netball Courts, the MTN Lugogo Indoor Arena, and Africa Bible University Lubowa are just a few of the venues Uganda can use.
Last year, Uganda successfully hosted the East and Central Clubs’ championship at Kamwokya.
The tournament’s date has not yet been determined and officially announced.
