PRIM ASIIMWE TO BRIGHTEN YOU MORNINGS ON NRG RADIO

It was a blessing is disguise for Prim Asiimwe when she decided to resign and hit the streets, & grab some influencer gigs around.

Prim Asiimwe started her career in 2012 when she contested for Miss Uganda. Much as she didn’t grab the crow, she definitely grabbed a name which she used to start influencing for brands in Uganda.

When Galaxy FM was starting, she was one of the first people to be recruited as a Radio Presenter until Tuesday 25^th April when she announced her exit from Galaxy FM.

Prim had worked with Galaxy for 10 years as a lead presenter and producer. “This has been an amazing journey full of growth and fulfilment because Radio is my passion,” She said.

Shortly after, Prim hits the streets again and continued her influencer gigs. A few weeks later, she was given an opportunity to work at NRG Radio and she announced on social media saying, “am off the streets!!!! Leezziiiiiigooooooo!!!! Every morning 106.5 on your radio. 📻 missed you, so much.”

Her funs had become restless and curious about what was next because they really enjoyed her voice on Radio and “boom” the queen is now on NRG.

Prim will be hosting the #NRGBreakfastShowUG alongside the top NRG MVP Radio King Bigboy Shaque and Queen Eka. The show will have great radio mixes by DJ Beats and this will definitely be the morning buzz of Kampala.

ABOUT PRIM’S CO HOSTS

Eka is a poet writer, poet, and radio presenter who started building her career 2018 as marketing influencer in interior design, architecture with an advertising agency called Brand Active. She grew into communications at an NGO called SEMA which birthed her passion for media.

While working at SEMA she often met so many influential talents in Uganda who kept on encouraging her to pursue radio presenting as a career. This how she learned of NRG radio and decided to contest in the #NRGeticMVPs contest.

On the other hand, Bigboy Shaque is a multi-media journalist, voice over artiste and coach, poet and English language tutor.

He started his career in 2016 as an MC at High school events alongside debating and writing poetry. He started pursuing voice over art as a free lancer and he is the voice that featured in the famous MTN Data bundles ads.

His passion for Radio started in 2020 when he joined in the media challenge initiative to work on their online radio. It was from that place that he learned of #NRGeticMVPs contest and emerged as a winner.

Putting aside mixing music on decks, DJ Beats is a young entrepreneur dealing in tech accessories located at Kizito Towers, & Kasangati.

DJ Beats has featured on great events with Fenon Events, and the Mix tape party by Slik Stuart & Roja.

He is one of the founders of the Real DJs organization that unites Ugandan DJs. It was from this that he got to hear about the #NRGeticMVPs and took part of the contest.

His skills, flexibility got him the crown as the top Radio DJ among all the contestants.

The four talents can’t wait to drive Kampala in a different wave with great energy, good vibes and fantastic music.
