THINGS UGANDANS DO ON A SUNDAY

In Uganda, Sundays are ideal for spending time with family. 
Uganda offers wide variety of Sunday family activities thanks to its rich cultural diversity, stunning natural surroundings, and hospitable population. 
Here are some Sunday traditional norms done by Ugandans on Sunday.

 

Shopping 
It is on such a day that most families go out to buy things in the house. You will find people flooded in different supermarkets, trying to purchase groceries and other items to use in the house.
This is the time most families go for family day outs with children and relatives.

Visit Local markets.

At about 3:00 pm, markets like Kalerwe market are flooded with people buying food like rice, dry beans tomatoes Irish potatoes the local food, to stock up in their homes to last the entire week.

Attend Church

It is surely a norm for Christian Ugandans to attend church on Sunday, most especially in the non-Muslim community.

It’s such a norm that no matter what village you go to, all family members pull out their best outfits to go and attend Church. This is where most people renew their strength for the week.

Catch a movie;

This is the best day to catch up on a movie or series. Since there is not much to do, most people will be at their houses watching movies, and for the love birds in town, “Netflix n’ Chill”

Salon Day.

Most people will use this day to visit the salon and get a special haircut or hairstyle so that they can show up at work looking presentable. For the students, it is the best time to have a haircut before meeting the angry teacher on duty on Monday.
