AIRTEL TV TO BROADCAST THE VOICE AFRICA

Airtel has come to announce that the first season of the highly anticipated talent show, The Voice Africa will debut on Airtel TV on 26th March 2023. The service provider also announced that non-Airtel customers can still catch all the action on free-to-air channels.

Receiving more than 70,000 applications from Kenya, Uganda, DR Congo, and all across Africa. The top 12,000 were then selected for the auditions where only 100 contestants are chosen, 7 from each country and these lucky few will proceed to the live shows that will be airing from Lagos, Nigeria.

The Voice Africa will adhere to the show’s global structure, beginning with blind auditions, followed by battle rounds, knockouts, playoffs, and live shows. One episode of the show will be broadcast each week for a total of 25 weeks. The first episodes will feature blind auditions that are judged purely on the voices of the contestants, not their appearances.

Airtel Africa’s Group Chief Commercial Officer, Anthony Shiner, stated: “We are thrilled to finally bring Africa’s exceptional musical talents to the world through the continent’s version of the global award-winning show, The Voice. The Voice Africa will display African musical talent, delivering excitement and entertainment to millions worldwide, whilst showcasing amazing voices, performances, and intrigues.”

Airtel Africa believes in nurturing the talents of African youth who in most cases, have nothing and no one to support them. In 2021, Airtel Africa and UNICEF unveiled a ground-breaking $57 million investment in education with the goal of expanding access to digital education and improving the futures of children in Africa.
