Cocaine Bear – A TRIUMPH IN B-MOVIES

Hollywood is in a bit of a runt, every movie nowadays has to have some kind of underlying political agenda and this, in turn, has hurt the movie industry as a whole but no one thought that Elizabeth Banks would be the unlikely hero that would potentially save Hollywood with a movie about a bear on cocaine. Cocaine Bear is not the movie that will save Hollywood but it is a breath of fresh air from the heavy plot-ridden movies that are coming out nowadays.

When a bear stumbles upon and consumes a bunch of cocaine, it goes on a blood-filled rampage destroying everything in its path. A gory, action-filled “comedy-horror”, Cocaine Bear sounds like a concept so ridiculous that the movie would end up being a joke but that could not be further from the truth. Director Elizabeth Banks, crafts a movie that despite its outlandish plot, it remains grounded in realism and the end product is a movie that despite its 68% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, it executes on every level.

Weta Digital the masterminds behind the VFX and creature motion graphics in Avatar and Lord of the Rings takes the helm in Cocaine Bear and yet again, they managed to bring to life and in great visual realism, the Bear.

A movie that will have you dreaming about bears for at least a week, Cocaine Bear is one of the most memorable movies of the year…so far.
