FIFA ANNOUNCES NEW FOOTBALL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM FOR RWANDAN YOUTH

On Tuesday, the world governing football association, FIFA, and the Rwandan government launched the Football For Schools program in Rwanda. The ceremony was held at the IPRC-Kicukiro football pitch in Kigali, the capital of Rwanda, and was witnessed by FIFA officials as well as students, teachers, coaches, and celebrities.
The program is part of a new global initiative by FIFA and host governments with the aim of benefiting 700 million children from across the world and over 4000 schools in Rwanda alone. The initiative aims to guarantee equal access to football for all participants with the FIFA secretary general, Fatma Samoura stating FIFA’s intent to supply over 20,000 balls to schools nationwide.
The Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) joins over 49 other member bodies in the program aimed at promoting FIFA’s influence around the world.
