ZION KENTE NOMINATED AS BEST E.A FEMALE ACTRESS – RWANDA INTERNATIONAL MOVIE AWARDS

Our very own Zion Kente has been nominated as the best East African Female actress in the Rwanda International Movie Awards. Zion is an actress, MC and Events host, she is a brand ambassador, for Qwezi Beauty and Smirnoff Ice, she is also a radio presenter on #NRGRadioUG and is now an Award Nominee in the Rwanda International Movie Awards.

“Dial M for Maya” where she featured as Maya is the movie that has caught the attention of viewers in Rwanda. She has featured in movies and series such as Kyaddala where she acted as Aliyah in S2 of the series, she is also an actress in a television series called “Sanyu” and she plays the role of crystal in the series.

“Dial M for Maya” was the first movie she acted as a star and she acted as Maya alongside Matthew Kavuma. The story of the movie was written in consideration of her being the star of the movie.

“When Kavuma called me, he said to me based on your character, we see a star and we would like to work with you on this script. The moment I read through the script, I was ready and up for the challenge.” She said.

Zion further expressed that she took time to be part of the entire process which took her a number of sleepless nights looking at each scene and making sure that it all turns out as intended. Surely it paid off well.

“I want to celebrate my team as well, that is Matthew Kavuma who was also nominated as the Best film director and best male actor, Emmanuel Gashumba, who was nominated as the best Director for Photography.” She adds
